Sgt. James Fordyce, a local Marine, was killed Feb. 17, 2006 in a helicopter crash off the eastern coast of Africa. Sgt Fordyce had served two tours in Iraq before joining the Combined Joint Task Force, Horn of Africa. He was serving on a counter-terrorism force that navigated the land and waters in and around Northern Africa in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. We were asked by Sgt. Fordyce’s uncle, Ed, a member at CrossFit Explode, to program this WOD in honor of this hometown hero. We are joining several other local boxes doing this WOD today, so please keep Sgt. Fordyce and the Fordyce family in mind as you work through this tough WOD.
